BACKGROUND

Female entrepreneurs equipped with the right capital and networks have the potential to support current efforts to decentralize primary care and improve access to care and medicine in rural areas. Since women represent 70% of the health workforce, and 76% of community health workers, supporting their entrepreneurship is an essential strategy for addressing health inequities.

This session can help create a robust roadmap that guides grant making, technical assistance, concessional lending, microlending and direct investment that will sustainably support these health entrepreneurs with a generational impact.

The information will position stakeholders to define a strategy that addresses barriers and opportunities in the local context and draws on lessons learned from previous investments and training programs.
